ABOUT US

Wayne and Michelle Milner own and run Coleychelle Farm – a property which primarily breeds thoroughbred horses and also holds a small number of race horses. The ratio of racing horses to breeding horses is about 1:5.

Coleychelle Farm got its name as a result of mixing the name of the road it is located on and the latter half of Michelle’s name. Similarly, a lot of the horses which are purchased go on to carry the “chelle” suffix within their name.

Wayne had been in finance or banking for his entire working career. He founded and then managed the successful Queensland based finance brokerage company “Northern City Finance” for eighteen years. He built it up to a $180 million business writings per year with thirty franchised offices. The company then went on to eventually be brought by City Pacific Limited and renamed City Pacific Finance. His love of horse racing has been part of him since he was young. His desire to now produce successful race horses is stronger still.

Michelle worked at Northern City Finance in the fields of marketing and administration. She and Wayne worked closely together for six years. Michelle’s main role within Coleychelle Farm is administrative. Wayne and Michelle married in 2000 and went on to have a baby boy – Jack in 2002 and a baby girl - Kate in 2006. They spend their time between living at the farm and at their house in Brisbane.
